JOHOR BARU – Amanah has announced 16 candidates for the Johor polls and the first-timers will be challenging for Bukit Pasir, Serom, Penawar, Panti, Senggarang, Sedili, Endau, and Kahang.

Among the party’s big names joining the fray are Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub (Simpang Jeram), Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad (Kota Iskandar), Suhaizan Kayat (Pulai Sebatang), and Aminolhuda Hassan (Parit Yaani).

Party president Mohamad Sabu in an event here said 11 out of the 16 contested seats were previously won by Pakatan Harapan (PH), including two under Bersatu in 2018.

Four of the candidates are from his party’s women’s wing, while three are from the youth wing.

“These candidates were chosen after a strict selection process, and of course, there are those who may feel unsatisfied, but that is expected.

“We are confident that the PH machinery and our members in Amanah will support and work to make sure these candidates win,” he said at Thistle Hotel here.

However, he did not want to comment on the ongoing spat between PH component party PKR and youth-led Muda.

Other candidates are Abdul Hamid Jamah (Senggarang), Syed Othman Abdullah (Permas), Sulaiman Mohd Noh (Kemelah), Elia Nadira Sabudin (Bukit Pasir), Asim Abdullah Ainullotfi (Serom), Nor Hayati Bachok (Maharani), Muhammad Taqiuddin Cheman (Mahkota), Rahani Banu Abd Rahman Krishnan (Kahang), Mohamad Fakrulrazi Mahmud (Endau), Ahmad Daniel Shahrudin (Panti), Mat Khairy Samsudin (Sedili) and Norazila Sanip (Penawar). – The Vibes, February 18, 2022
