PASIR MAS – Some 500 residents in Taman Desa Wira Jaya near Lubok Jong here are having trouble cleaning their houses as water supplies have not been restored in the area.

Nor Azila Jana, 38, said her husband, Muhamad Yahya, 45, has been carrying stagnated water from a drain in front of the house to clean kitchen utensils and the like.

It is understood that the pump in this housing area has been damaged by water since Saturday and has not been repaired yet.

“Until now, we have been carrying countless buckets of water, which makes it difficult for the family to clean the house,” she said when met at her home yesterday.

Nor Azila said she hopes the water supply in her residential area can be fixed soonest to make it easier for residents to clean their homes and do other daily chores.

Meanwhile, Nur Khairunisa Mohd Rizki, 34, said she and her family were helped by her husband’s friends from the Malaysian Armed Forces as her husband, Mohd Zaidi Mat Tahir, is now on duty in Sabah.

“Even though my husband is currently serving in Sabah, I am very grateful and lucky because some of my husband’s friends are willing to help clean our home as water supply is still disrupted,” she said. – Bernama, March 4, 2022
