JOHOR BARU – Individuals giving speeches during political ceramah in Johor will not need to wear their masks, as long as they maintain a 1m physical distance on stage, said the Election Commission (EC).
This comes a day after Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin hinted there might be a change in election standard operating procedures (SOPs).
In a statement today, the EC said those attending the ceramah must keep their masks on and maintain a physical distance of at least 1m.
It added that shaking of hands is prohibited.
Meanwhile, for party meetings, all individuals must comply with SOPs, including physical distancing and wearing of masks.
Previously, according to SOPs, individuals giving speeches at such ceramah must keep their masks on.
Polling day for the Johor polls is on March 12. – The Vibes, March 7, 2022
