BUKIT MERTAJAM – Two boys died tragically after their motorcycle they were riding on skidded before colliding with an electric pole at Kg Nerus, Kubang Semang, here yesterday.

In the 2.49pm incident, both 11-year-old victims died at the scene.

Seberang Prai Tengah district police chief Shafee Abd Samad said initial investigations revealed that the motorcycle ridden by the victims skidded before hitting an electric pole causing both of them to be flung into a bush area on the left side of the road.

“Both victims were confirmed dead at the scene and the bodies were sent to Seberang Jaya Hospital for autopsy,” he said in a statement last night.

Shafee said the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

In this regard, he asked witnesses who saw the incident to come forward or contact the investigating officer Inspector Ami Syuqri at 013-418-4072 or 04-538-2222 to assist in the investigations.

The tragic incident has since gone viral on social media after videos and pictures post-accident were posted across various platforms.
