JOHOR BARU – Four foreign nationals went missing while diving off Pulau Tokong Sanggol, Mersing this afternoon.
Johor maritime director Nurul Hizam Zakaria said information was received via the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Putrajaya at about 2.35pm on an incident in which four foreign nationals failed to resurface while diving around noon.
He said the victims were a British boy, aged 14; a 46-year-old British man, an 18-year-old French woman, and a 35-year-old Norwegian woman.
“Up to 4pm, the missing victims have not been found,” he said in a statement here today.
Nurul Hizam said the “Ops Carilamat” search-and-rescue operation was activated at 2.45pm involving assets from Maritim Malaysia, marine police, and the Fisheries Department. – Bernama, April 6, 2022
