KUALA LUMPUR – Amanah deputy permanent chairman, Adnan Saad, 54, died after he collapsed while waiting in line to fulfil his zakat or tithe payments at Masjid Zahir in Alor Setar last night.

Kubang Rotan assemblyman Amirul Anuar Aris said Adnan, who also holds the position as Kedah Amanah election director, had suddenly collapsed after the Isyak prayers.

“I was told by his family that he had a history of heart disease and hypertension with his death possibly related to these conditions,” he told The Vibes’ sister publication Getaran.

“His passing is truly shocking. For me, we have lost an individual who is well respected by both friends and foe.”

Meanwhile, Amanah vice president Datuk Mahfuz Omar said he was made to understand that Adnan had died en route to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.

“He was a person committed towards his duties. Any shortcomings or anything that is lacking financially was never a good enough reason for him to slack in his duties,” Mahfuz said.

“Over the past two, three days, we were constantly going back and forth and joking over Whatsapp, but I never expected that would be our last memory of him.

“It is a major loss for Amanah, especially for us here in Kedah,” Mahfuz added. — The Vibes, May 2, 2022
