KANGAR – Two inmates from the Bukit Chabang drug rehabilitation centre who escaped on Saturday have been rearrested today.

Padang Besar police chief Mohd Shokri Abdullah said both male detainees were apprehended in front of a factory in Chuping at 1pm. 

“When captured, the two escapees aged 51 and 44 were still in their dark tracksuit pants but had put on different shirts,” he said in a statement today.

He said both inmates are now being held in the Padang Besar police station lock-up.

Yesterday, it was reported that the Padang Besar police headquarters had launched Op Tutup to track down the two men involved. – Bernama, May 9, 2022
