44 people evacuated to two flood relief centres in Setiu

KUALA TERENGGANU — The monsoon is back and the flood season has started in Terengganu, with Setiu as the first district to be hit. 

 A total of 44 people from 11 families in the district were evacuated to two flood relief centres, which were opened at 1am today to accommodate them.

The chief secretariat of the State Disaster Management Committee, Lieutenant Colonel (PA) Che Adam A Rahman said the relief centres were at  Balairaya Sungai Lerek and Surau Kampung Bukit Nyior Pelong.

The evacuation process is still in progress in several other areas, he said in a statement today. — Bernama, November 18, 2020
