KUALA LUMPUR – Failure to maintain proper physical distancing made up the highest number of recovery movement control order (RMCO) violations yesterday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said. 

Of the total 455 violations, he said 206 individuals detained for the offence.

A total of 427 individuals compounded, 27 remanded while one was released on bail. 

Other violations include entertainment centre activities (72), failure to wear masks (63), failure to prepare customer registration tools (59), inter-state/district crossings (21) and others (34), the minister said in a statement today. 

Also, he said 28 illegal immigrants and a smuggler were detained in Op Benteng yesterday. 

Ismail Sabri also said that 72,062 individuals have returned from abroad since July 24, and placed in 72 hotels, 19 public training institutes, and private tertiary institutes nationwide. 

“Of that total, 10,396 individuals are currently undergoing mandatory quarantine, 404 were sent to hospital for treatment while 61,262 individuals have been discharged and allowed home,” he said. – Bernama, November 21, 2020
