KOTA KINABALU – From tomorrow onwards, travellers moving from Sabah to anywhere else in Malaysia need only undergo test swabs to detect Covid-19 three days before departure from the state.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said that individuals who are positive for Covid-19 or show symptoms of the illness are not allowed to continue the journey out.

“Those who are positive for Covid-19 will be referred to the hospital for isolation, treatment, and monitoring. Meanwhile, symptomatic individuals will be referred for examination,” he said.

He said travellers allowed to continue their journey out of Sabah must go through screening for fever and other symptoms, and have their swab tests examined.

They must also use the MySejahtera app upon arrival at the main entry points in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, and Labuan.

Travellers who are not symptomatic and who test negative for Covid-19 do not need to undergo the 14-day quarantine, which was mandatory for all prior to this.

Previously, from October 11 onwards, those who arrived in other states from Sabah must undergo a swab test under home surveillance, and must wear a wristband for 14 days. – The Vibes, November 11, 2020
