KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is confident of securing his Pagoh seat following the tremendous support he received while campaigning in the constituency.

The Pagoh incumbent said his party machinery is also getting stronger and they were more optimistic after they launched their manifesto.

“The support has been extraordinary, especially among the Malay community and some of them are also non-Malays.

“After the manifesto was launched, a third-party validator said it is a realistic offer that could be executed and inclusive because it involves all layers of society.

“Despite that, we are not going to be complacent. We will continue our efforts to explain our manifesto to the people,” he said in a video recording of a campaign walkabout in Pagoh, which was posted on his Facebook account yesterday.

The Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman also noted that PN contributed to most of the country’s economic and Covid-19 recovery, saying that the current prime minister does not deserve all the credit.

“Most of the work was done by Perikatan Nasional, you cannot give all the credit to Barisan Nasional.

“Even though the economy has recovered following data showing a fairly good increase in GDP (gross domestic product), we did most of the hard work, the crucial steps, while the country was in difficult times,” he added.

Muhyiddin also said that PN needs to be clear and transparent with the people so they will be able to choose the right prime minister for the country, instead of someone who has a court case or are ex-prisoners. – The Vibes, November 12, 2022
