PENAMPANG – Warisan will not submit to conditions set by any peninsular alliances if it wins handsomely in the election, said party number two Datuk Darell Leiking.

The incumbent Penampang MP said Warisan wants to break the peninsula parties’ dominance and instead set the terms to gain their support, while pointing out Warisan is contesting in 52 seats.

“I will tell you here tonight, for Warisan, we will not be told by anyone (on what to do)…we would not accept their prime minister pick.

“We also won’t be forced to (accede to) any of their demands.

“We will determine who will be the prime minister only after they accept our main term, which is that Sabah must come first,” he said in his final campaign speech in Donggongon township here tonight.

Warisan is contesting in 52 seats, 26 in Sabah and Labuan, and another 26 parliamentary seats in the peninsula.

Leiking said this after predicting that no peninsula coalitions will win a strong majority in the polls and they are forced to look into East Malaysia to form a strong government.

Leiking also noted his party colleague, Datuk Junz Wong, saying that the only party which Warisan had in common with was Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Like Warisan, PH will not entertain jailed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and dismiss all the court cases involving corrupt politicians.

He said the only thing that Warisan does not share in common with PH is that Warisan wants the alliance to leave Sabah.

Earlier, Leiking had addressed the accusation made by PH that Warisan’s foray into the peninsula is to break the votes.

He said that while Warisan spreading its wings to the peninsula is to promote multi-racial harmony, PH sought to break votes, as they were contesting in Penampang. – The Vibes, November 18, 2022
