KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) information chief Fahmi Fadzil reminded PAS to remember the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s advice urging for unity, following the Perikatan Nasional (PN) component party’s assertions that DAP is spreading Islamophobic narratives.
Urging PAS to stop spreading “hate and misinformation”, Fahmi challenged the party to lodge a police report if it believes that DAP, a PH component party, is guilty as accused.
“If it is true that DAP is what (PAS) accuses it of being, then make a police report. Let the authorities take action.

“Remember the advice of (the Agong) for us all to unite in the interests of our beloved Malaysia. Do not commit treason,” the Lembah Pantai MP said in a tweet today.
Earlier, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, in a statement, branded DAP as a spreader of Islamophobic narratives, claiming that the “creedless and immoral” party is now “showing its true colours” for the sake of political expediency.
He also alleged that DAP’s appointment of “stupid and liberal Malays rejected by Islam” to be its mouthpiece does not make up for its ideologies which go against Islam.
Hadi’s statement follows calls by PH leaders, including Amanah youth chief Mohd Sany Hamzan, for PAS to be banned for spreading racial hatred and misinformation by “riding on the vehicle of religion.”
Sany, who is the Taman Templer assemblyman and the new Hulu Langat MP, had lodged a police report following the proliferation of social media content allegedly uploaded by PAS members that could incite religious and racial disharmony.
The Perikatan Nasional coalition, which PAS is part of, had previously come under fire from several quarters, including a group representing retired armed forces personnel, the National Patriots’ Association (Patriot), for being “treacherous” in going against the king’s advice to form a unity government.
Demanding an apology from Hadi and PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Patriot president Datuk Mohamed Arshad Raji criticised Muhyiddin’s public stance on the matter as undermining the nation’s constitutional monarchy and setting a “very dangerous precedent.” – The Vibes, November 28, 2022
