KUALA LUMPUR – Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Special Duties) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof’s refusal to allow an interjection during his budget debate raised the opposition’s ire.

Teo Nie Ching (PH-Kulai) demanded that Redzuan take questions after he wanted to end his debate session early and refused to give way to Teo despite having a minute left in his session.

“Didn’t you say there is another minute? Why won’t you share?” asked Teo.

She was however answered by several government MPs, including Redzuan.

“Do not get mad. Why do you want to scream?” asked Redzuan.

Teo then continued her question and asked what Redzuan had achieved after being appointed as minister and how he contributed to the nation.

After that, Redzuan allowed Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (BN-Arau) to ask questions about the practice of “politicking” in the government administration and the appointment of many special officers during the Pakatan Harapan administration.

Redzuan, however, did not answer Teo’s question and said instead that many special officers were appointed during the PH administration.

“We will rationalise the function of the ministers from time to time with the consent of the prime minister and the Public Service Department, and it is acknowledged that many special officers were appointed during the PH era,” he said. – The Vibes, November 30, 2020
