GEORGE TOWN – A woman died after being crushed by a car near a condominium in Green Lane here this morning.

In the 11.30am incident, the car, driven by a senior citizen, knocked into the victim and dragged her through a wall before falling from a height of 20 metres.

The victim is 49-year-old Kim Hui Ping.

Operations officer from the Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Department station Yusri Zakaria said witnesses saw the victim being knocked by the car, which was driven by a 71-year-old woman.

“Witnesses said the victim was seen to be walking towards her vehicle before the car knocked into her.”

The driver, meanwhile, was trapped in the vehicle and rescue personnel took about 15 minutes to retrieve her, Yusri added.

“Kim’s body has been sent to Penang Hospital for a post-mortem while the driver is in hospital receiving treatment.” – The Vibes, December 3, 2020
