KOTA KINABALU – Warisan is mulling plans to expand its reach to the peninsula, said Youth chief Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman at the wing’s general assembly today.
He said when he was in the peninsula, a lot of MPs were interested in the “unity vibe”.
“They asked why it (Warisan) can’t be expanded to the peninsula, as they are convinced the way forward for the country is what we have been trying to do in Sabah.
“If you look at the political landscape in the country, race- and religion-based political parties have divided the people. It is time for Malaysia to move forward.
“Members at the branch level have asked for the matter of expansion to be considered,” he said
Meanwhile, Azis said Warisan will be filing a petition on the recent state election result for the Karambunai seat.
“There were suspicions raised as Warisan lost badly in Karambunai,” he said.
In the state election in September, Umno’s Datuk Yakub Khan won the Karambunai seat with a 16-vote majority against Warisan’s Ahmad Jais Otong. – The Vibes, December 12, 2020
