SHAH ALAM – Rapper and composer Altimet, whose real name is Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, will be fielded as the candidate for Lembah Jaya for the Selangor state election next month.

PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also announced former Bukit Melawati state assemblywoman Juwairiya Zulkifli as the contender for the Hulu Kelang seat, which is expected to be contested by former Gombak MP Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

Three-term Bukit Lanjan assemblyman Elizabeth Wong has been dropped as a candidate and will be replaced by Phua Pei Lei, while Najwan Halimi was retained for Kota Anggerik.

Meanwhile, former Indera Kota (Pahang) MP Azan Ismail was named as the PH candidate for the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election.

This puts to rest rumours that PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar is going to contest the seat.
