PETALING JAYA – A total of RM93.2 million ringgit worth of assets were seized and surrendered in the investigation against former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) general counsel Jasmine Loo, said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
Among the assets included two Pablo Picasso artworks, watches, jewellery and luxury handbags.
“The value of the assets was calculated based on what they were worth in 2013.
“They were seized in Singapore, Switzerland, New York, London and Malaysia,” he told a press conference, here, today.
Some of the assets were discovered at an establishment in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, while some were kept by Loo abroad.
Loo also received cash, luxury watches and several branded handbags, including a Birkin from wanted businessman Low Taek Jho, said Ayob.
“We will now send her to other agencies for follow-up investigations, as these investigations involve many agencies including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission,” he said.
Loo was detained in July. She also admitted to having owned several assets in the United States, Switzerland and Singapore, which she had purchased using funds from 1MDB.
She was also the founder of River Dee International SA in Falcon Private Bank AG in Zurich.
According to Ayob, Loo received US$16 million (RM74 million) in five transactions from several companies and entities.
“She then bought property in New York for about RM4.6 million and one in London for RM2.7 million.
“Loo has signed a statutory declaration on August 23 to return the said properties and assets to 1MDB,” he said.

Loo’s last position with 1MDB was as its general counsel in 2011 where she received RM40,000 a month as her salary.
