AN 87-year-old woman was found dead in a drain outside her home in Kampung Tanah Datar, Chengkau in Rembau, on Monday.
Her body was discovered face down by her 66-year-old son at about 9.45am when he arrived at the house.
Rembau police chief Superintendent Ngiam Ooi Ming said preliminary investigations at the scene found no indication of foul play.
"The victim lived alone and the incident was discovered by her son when he arrived at the house.
"Her body was subsequently sent to the forensic unit at Rembau Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the actual cause of death," he said.
Ngiam said the case had been classified as sudden death, with further investigations ongoing. - November 2, 2026
