AGC allocates RM100k to upgrade Kelantan school under Madani programme

THE Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) has allocated RM100,000 to upgrade facilities at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pasir Hor in Kelantan under the Madani Adopted School Programme.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said the initiative demonstrated the AGC's commitment to community engagement beyond its core legal responsibilities, particularly in supporting educational infrastructure and pupils' welfare.

He said some quarters had questioned the involvement of government agencies in such initiatives, including raising the matter in Parliament.

"We cannot just sit in the office. We also need to go down to the ground to help the community. I believe this earns spiritual rewards, and it is encouraged in Islam," he said at the programme's launch at SK Pasir Hor in Kota Bharu on Sunday.

The RM100,000 allocation was used to complete four projects aimed at improving the school's physical and digital facilities.

They include the development of the Puan Sri Nik Karthini Resource Centre Digital Hub, the establishment of a School Resource Centre TV Studio, the upgrading of Dewan Aspirasi with 12 industrial fans and a new sound system, and the construction of Anjung Dusuki for pupils under the Special Education Integrated Programme (PPKI).

Mohd Dusuki said the projects were implemented in close cooperation with the school administration following several coordination meetings to identify infrastructure needs and prioritise pupils' welfare.

He said the initiative also reflected the government's commitment to ensuring that national development reached grassroots communities rather than being concentrated in urban areas.

Beyond infrastructure improvements, he said the AGC planned to contribute through knowledge-sharing activities on legal awareness, character development and instilling integrity among pupils from an early age.

He hoped the initiative would ease teachers' responsibilities in shaping pupils' character and help produce a generation that excelled academically while possessing strong moral values.

He also urged pupils to make full use of the upgraded facilities, study diligently and heed the advice of their teachers and parents.

Also present were Education Ministry Deputy Director-General (Professional Development Sector) Datuk Amzan Abd Malek and Kelantan Education Department director Siti Norina Muhamad. - November 1, 2026
