WE refer to the article “Selangor received 2.9 million Covid-19 vaccine doses: Mosti” in Codeblue, which was published on June 3, followed by a media statement by Selangor Public Health, Unity, Women and Family Development Committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud on the same day.
The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) would like to clarify the numbers quoted in the article.
As of June 1, Selangor has received 146,440 doses of the Sinovac (CoronaVac) vaccine, 434,070 doses of the Pfizer (Cominarty) vaccine and 34,700 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, bringing the total number of vaccines received by Selangor to 615,210 doses.
This makes Selangor the state with the highest number of vaccines delivered (615,210 doses) as of June 1, followed by Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya (578,130), and Johor (370,680).
Thus, the data cited in Codeblue’s article that 2,511,641 out of the 2,909,670 doses from the federal government to Selangor have yet to be utilised is incorrect.
The number that was earlier provided includes both stock in government facilities and those still at the distributor’s warehouse, which is located in Selangor and ready for distribution to the whole country.
