ON May 14, two The Vibes reporters were involved in an incident at the Pudu Urban Transformation Centre while investigating complaints of long queues at the Immigration Department counters.
The incident later triggered reactions from media rights groups and politicians decrying the abuse against Qistina Nadia Dzulqarnain and Lancelot Theseira. Subsequently, there was a call for laws to protect journalists in the field.
Joining PETRA News chief executive Datuk Zainul Ariffin Mohamed Isa, executive director Datuk Ahirudin Attan (better known as Rocky Bru) and editor-in-chief Terence Fernandez is Qistina Nadia, who shared her experience and personal take on the issue.
Will the victim now become a suspect? Can Qistina Nadia be charged for instigating a riot? Would this be enough to put her off pursuing a career in journalism?
