TWO old hats of radio, Datuk Kamil Othman and Manvir Victor have finally teamed up after listening to each other’s shows over the years.
Kamil, known for his Alternative Rock Show on THR in the 1990s, has vast knowledge in both music and movies, having helmed Finas and MDEC and has worked very hard to both create and promote local entertainment talent.
Manvir presented Classic Rock for AMP Radio Networks, before creating and hosting Harddrive on WowFM.
Together they have interviewed the who’s who of music, movies, sports and business.
They now turn their sights on the arts with an emphasis on movies and music.
Wondering why Malaysia has not been able to reach its potential in these areas has been something that ordinary Malaysians have been griping about for a long time.
It’s now time to share best practices and learn from what other successful nations have been able to do when it comes to cultivating and elevating the arts on a global level.
In the inaugural episode of Silver Screens and Guitar Strings, the duo look back at Citizen Kane, the 1940s classic by Orson Welles and how the recently produced movie Mank on Netflix revived interest in the classic.
