NATIONAL women’s badminton pair Pearly Tan-M Thinaah fell to Korea’s Jeong Na Eun-Kim Hye Jeong in the women’s doubles final at the 2024 Korea Open today.

The world No 13 Malaysian pair lost to the world No 42 pair 12-21, 11-21 in 43 minutes.

The first game was closely fought as the Malaysians went into the break 11-10 but the Koreans took seven consecutive points and eventually won the game 21-12 in 21 minutes.

The Koreans carried the same confidence into the second game and led all the way to the break with the score at 11-5 before rallying home 21-11 in 22 minutes for the title. – September 1, 2024.
