MALAYSIAN shuttlers Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani beat China’s world No 1 men’s doubles pair Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang to enter the final of the 2024 Arctic Open in Finland.

World No. 8 Sze Fei-Izzuddin put in a stunning performance to topple the Chinese pair 19-21, 21-17, 21-18 in a thrilling 62-minute battle.

In the final tomorrow, they will meet the winners of the other semi-final between Thailand’s new combination Kittinupong Kedren-Dechapol Puavaranukroh and world No 2 pair Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark.

Meanwhile, independent mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai saw their run come to an end after a 21-14, 21-8 defeat to China's world No. 3 Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin in the semi-finals. - October 12, 2024
