WORLD No. 9, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, advanced to the second round of the Thailand Open after defeating the Japanese pair, Hiroki Okamura-Kyohei Yamashita, at the Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok, today.

The national pair was forced to work hard before recording a 21-15, 17-21, 21-12 victory in a battle that lasted 56 minutes.

The victory ensured that Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin advanced to the last 16 of the Super 500 tournament.

The national pair is now scheduled to face China's Huang Di-Liu Yang, who defeated the home pair, Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn-Worrapol Thongsa-Nga 21-15, 21-8.

Meanwhile, another national men's doubles team, Choong Hon Jian-Wong Vin Sean, failed to advance after losing to the Taiwanese pair, Lee Fang-Chih-Lee Fang-Jen 20-22, 26-24, 7-21. – May 13, 2026
