KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal believes that constructive criticism is not only good for Malaysian hockey, but also for Malaysian sports.

He shared that while positive criticisms are welcomed, criticisms that are done for the sake of criticising is a waste of time and is unhelpful.

“We welcome constructive criticism. Period,” said Subahan.

At the same time, Subahan said that the key to success is teamwork and he expects all the state presidents to be team players.

“All state presidents must understand that they must be a team player. Because you must give the due respect, you must respect the chair, the president of Malaysian hockey - it is not that I want to be arrogant and say, hey look, you got to respect me.

“No, you’ve got to understand, you’ve got to respect the MHC because we were all voted in. We were all decided by the delegates to give us the responsibility to lead the Malaysian hockey for the next three to four years. So, for us to succeed, we need team players to be there in the grassroots level.

In a recent interview with The Vibes, Subahan says a lot about the funding for hockey, how the State Presidents can be team players and what he expects from them in order to make hockey great.
