KUALA LUMPUR − National T20 (intellectual impairment) long jump ace Abdul Latif Romly received The BrandLaureate Brand Icon Leadership Award 2021 in the World of Sports Brand Icon Leadership Award category yesterday. 

Through a posting uploaded on his Instagram page, Latif, who shared the joy with his followers, was truly grateful for receiving another award in his career so far.  

“Alhamdullilah... on being made one of the recipients of The BrandLaureate Brand Icon Leadership Award 2021 for the ‘World of Sports Brand Icon Leadership Awards’ category. 

“Thank you to @thebrandlaureate for the award,” he said. 

The post garnered over 6,000 likes so far.

Latif became the only national athlete to successfully defend his Paralympic gold medal when he clinched the gold with a leap of 7.45m at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in September.

The 24-year-old Perlis-born athlete previously bagged his first gold in the world’s biggest para multi-sports event in Rio 2016 with a leap of 7.60m. – Bernama, December 16, 2021
