KUALA LUMPUR – National sprint sensation Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi finally has decided his pathway in achieving his ambition of being a successful individual, both on and off the track.

After months of speculation on the 18-year-old’s future, Azeem has chosen Auburn University in Alabama.

“Malaysia to Auburn. Welcome home, Azeem Fahmi,” Auburn Track and Field announced on its social media platform early today.

Previously, it was reported that Azeem received over 10 offers to further his studies at foreign universities, mainly after finishing fifth in the 100m final at the Under-20 World Athletics Championships in Cali, Colombia in August.

The Perak-born lad had earlier set a new national 100m record of 10.09 seconds (in the heats) in Cali, erasing the old mark of 10.18s set by former Southeast Asia sprint champion Khairul Hafiz Jantan.
