KUALA LUMPUR – The Honda Yuzy Estremo Team will make their debut at the opening round of the 2023 Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix Championship on February 25 and 26 at the Sepang Circuit.
In conjunction with that, Yuzy Racing Team introduced a local lubricating oil company, Estremo, as the new main sponsor for the 2023 season at Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Resort today.
Yuzy Racing team captain Shahrol Yuzy Ahmad Zaini said that Estremo will act as the main sponsor of the team for three seasons, starting in 2023 until 2025.
“This collaboration with Estremo will be with us until 2025 in facing the Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix Championship.”
“In addition, this year I will also announce that our team will return to the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in the Underbone 150cc category.
“This partnership with Estremo will definitely benefit the Yuzy team, because it will help the team development programme, which is always trying to produce the best racers who can become champions,” Shahrol said.
He said that this collaboration is not limited to the circuit and they are developing various programmes outside the circuit that will benefit everyone, particularly the racers.
Meanwhile, Shahrol added that his son Shahrol Syazras will join with the team’s new rider Haziq Hamdan in the Underbone 150cc ARRC.
“The fact that my son, Shahrol Syazras, is now following in my footsteps and joining the team with other riders has made me proud as a rider and team owner.
“After a few seasons, I believe he had matured and was capable of bearing the responsibility given,” said Shahrol.
Other than Syazras, they also introduced Azroy Hakeem Anuar and Md Idlan Haqimi Raduan as CP150 riders in the Petronas Malaysia Cub Prix Championship.
For the record, Yury Racing Team’s partnership with Honda has contributed to its success and produced two champions in the premier category, namely Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi in the CP130 category in 2014 and Azroy Hakeem Anuar in the CP150 category in 2021. – The Vibes, January 14, 2023
