KUALA NERUS – Terengganu FC (TFC) players have been reminded not to repeat silly mistakes that could result in lost points when they face Negri Sembilan FC (NSFC) at the Paroi Stadium tomorrow night.

TFC assistant head coach Badrul Afzan Razali said the Turtles need to take a valuable lesson from their defeat to Kedah Darul Aman FC on March 2 in order to return home with three points.

He said TFC’s first victory in this season’s Super League over PDRM FC last Saturday should not make the players too comfortable and they must improve their game to ensure the winning momentum continues.

“We have to be careful with Negri Sembilan because they have experienced players… furthermore they have home ground advantage.

“I hope the players can focus from the first to the last minute of the game. Don’t repeat the same mistakes in Kedah that caused us to be punished with a narrow defeat,” he said when met at the Gong Badak Sports Complex here yesterday .

Badrul Afzan said that TFC will most likely retain the combination of Jordan Mintah and Adisak Kraisorn in attack for tomorrow night’s match.

He said this was because Mintah, who was fielded for the first time in the match against PDRM, had shown seriousness and high commitment despite failing to score.

“But we have to wait for the head coach to decide the starting line-up either today (yesterday) or tomorrow (today). We need to see the performance of the players during training before making the final decision,” he said.

Meanwhile, he also congratulated young player Syafiq Ismail for being picked on the reserve list for the national squad’s centralised training camp.

“This is the first time Syafiq is listed in the senior squad. It is a motivation for him and the Terengganu team.

“I hope he will be called up to have the opportunity to gain experience at a higher level,” he said. – Bernama, March 15, 2023
