FLOODS in several states have worsened, with Pahang becoming the latest to be affected.
According to reports, the number of flood evacuees housed in temporary relief centres (PPS) nationwide has risen to 152,377 this morning, up from 146,611 last night.
However, the figures in Negeri Sembilan and Selangor have dropped slightly as of 8 am today.
In KELANTAN, the number of flood evacuees in 284 PPS has reached 96,743 people from 29,928 families, up from 93,158 last night.
Bernama also reported that Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has temporarily cut the electricity supply in several areas around Marang and Kuala Terengganu today to ensure public safety following heavy rain and flooding incidents.
In a Facebook post, TNB Careline said that affected areas include Kem Panji Alam in Marang, as well as Wisma TG Ramly and Tepoh in Kuala Terengganu.
Several main roads in Raub district, Pahang have been closed to light vehicles due to flooding caused by heavy rain since yesterday evening.
The Raub district police headquarters, in a statement on Facebook, said affected roads include KM344 - KM342 of Jalan Kuala Lipis-Kota Bharu (Gali Lurus-Gali Hilir) and Jalan Cheroh-Gesing (Jambatan Gesing). - December 1, 2024
