[VIDEO] Enduring Covid-19: a filial son’s faith in the Almighty answered

74-year-old widow Aminah Ibrahim receives aid, relief after loss of youngest to coronavirus

KUALA LUMPUR – Despite the tragic adversities she has faced and will be facing, 74-year-old widow Aminah Ibrahim’s faith in the Almighty granted her the strength to staunchly endure whatever challenges come her way.

A day before this video was taken, she had lost her youngest son Mohd Kamil Affendy to Covid-19. He was the fourth out of seven children she has lost in her lifetime.

Now, she lives alone in a one-storey three-bedroom house in Taman Bunga Raya, Kuala Lumpur accompanied by 30 cats whom she fondly refers to as her “children”.

However, just before Kamil passed away, the filial son had made a “community plea” on his Facebook page, requesting for financial assistance for his mother. He did not ask for charity but for a job for the blind, seeing how he lost his eyesight and career as a taxi driver in February.

It seemed that Kamil’s prayers had been answered when nearly a dozen people, including Nashriq Ismail Sabri, the son of newly minted Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, visited her to provide aid and relief.

Here, Aminah shares some of her fondest recollections of her beloved 39-year-old son with Nashriq and The Vibes. – The Vibes, July 10, 2021
