KUALA LUMPUR – From pilot instructor to hawker, Captain Azrin Mohd Zawawi is not giving up on life easily despite having been retrenched.

Azrin is among the 2,200 crew and staff of Malindo Air who were served with retrenchment letters on October 30.

He said that, since losing his job, he has been bent on making a comeback with a rewarding lifestyle, no matter what the task demands.

In the early days of opening up his food stall, Azrin could make up to RM1,500 daily.

Those in the aviation and airline businesses are among the most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic that began earlier this year, with thousands of cabin crew turning to alternate jobs, like driving Grab cars and taxis, venturing into the food and beverage industry, online vocations or direct-selling, just to make ends meet.

The Vibes pixmen, SAIRIEN NAFIS, captured Azrin hard at work at Kapten Corner, in USJ 11, Subang Jaya. – The Vibes, November 26, 2020
