YANGON – Myanmar logged 7,083 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the national tally to 208,357, the Xinhua news agency reported the Health and Sports Ministry as saying.
The death toll has hit 4,181 with another 145 fatalities recorded.
The ministry said a total of 151,442 coronavirus patients have been discharged from hospitals, and that over 2.91 million samples have been tested for the disease.
The State Administration Council – as what the junta calls itself – yesterday announced a nine-day “public holiday”, from July 17 to 25, for the prevention, control and treatment of Covid-19.
Myanmar detected its first two infections on March 23 last year. – Bernama, July 15, 2021
