WASHINGTON – White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has contracted the coronavirus, reported the Anadolu agency, citing Bloomberg.
Bloomberg, quoting people familiar with the matter, said it is not clear when Meadows learnt that he was infected, or whether he has symptoms.
A source said he informed his close circle of advisers after Tuesday’s presidential election.
Nick Trainer, who is President Donald Trump’s campaign director for battleground strategy, has also tested positive for Covid-19, said Bloomberg.
Meadows is the latest top official in the Trump administration to catch the virus.
Early last month, Trump and his wife, Melania, tested positive.
