Datuk Seri Lee Tian Hock, the founder and group executive deputy chairman of Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd was recently awarded the Sin Chew Business Excellence Award 2023.

The award ceremony recognised Lee's outstanding contributions to the business community and his exemplary leadership in steering Matrix Concepts towards success.

Lee established Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad in 1997 to provide affordable and high-quality housing to Malaysians and over the past 20 years, his vision and commitment have enabled Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad to become a well-known real

estate developer in Malaysia.

The business has received widespread industry recognition for its high-quality housing, impressive financial performance, and sustainable development projects.

Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad saw exponential business growth under Lee's leadership and in 2013, it was successfully listed on the Bursa Malaysia Main Board. Currently, the group's market worth exceeds RM2.2 billion.

Lee's business expertise has earned him many distinctions, including the Malaysia Property Award and the Malaysia SME Platinum Business Award.

However, people are most interested in the philanthropic work he has done as part of his regular philanthropy, such as his donation of tens of millions of ringgit to his alma mater, Port Dickson Chung Hua High School.

With his rescue and guidance of two financially troubled Chinese private hospitals, Mawar Medical Centre Seremban and Chinese Maternity Hospital (CMH Specialist Hospital) soon regained speed and grew steadily over the next few years.

Lee is enthusiastic about the Chinese community and his significant donation enabled four organisations to complete their new clubhouses, which are Dewan Perhimpunan Cina Negeri Sembilan, Pertubuhan Lembaga Pengurus Sekolah Cina Negeri Sembilan, Negeri Sembilan United Lee’s Association and Persekutuan Persatuan Lee Malaysia.

Lee’s passionate appreciation for basketball motivated him to take over as president of the Malaysia Basketball Association without hesitation, accepting the enormous responsibility of revitalising Malaysian basketball.

In his appreciation speech, Lee said this is the 10th year of the Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards, which holds great significance to the entrepreneurs.

"The Chinese Chamber of Commerce is one of the four pillars of the Chinese community.

"The awards acknowledge outstanding Chinese businesses that strive for excellence and have contributed to the establishment of Chinese enterprise and elites in large numbers," he added. - The Vibes, March 27, 2024
