THE nation has marked World Post Day 2025 with the official launch of Redly Pos Malaysia International, a new global brand under Pos Malaysia aimed at unifying and enhancing the country’s international postal and delivery services.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, officiating the ceremony at the National Mail Centre in Shah Alam, said the rebranding represents a bold step forward for Pos Malaysia in strengthening its global connectivity and positioning Malaysia as a competitive player in international logistics.

“Through Redly, all international mail and delivery services will operate under a single, strong, and consistent identity that links Malaysian businesses and consumers more seamlessly with the rest of the world,” he said.

The announcement comes as part of Pos Malaysia’s ongoing transformation strategy, which has already produced significant operational improvements since 2021.

According to Fahmi, the company’s next-day parcel delivery performance has risen to over 90 percent from just 50 percent four years ago, while mail delivery punctuality stands at 93 percent. Customer satisfaction has also climbed to 91 percent, surpassing the industry average of 82 percent.

“These improvements are proof that transformation is not only possible but necessary in addressing structural challenges such as the decline in mail volumes, reduced footfall at post offices, and intense competition in the parcel delivery market,” he noted.

Fahmi also commended Pos Malaysia for its environmental efforts, highlighting its success in winning three major sustainability awards for innovation, energy efficiency, and ESG performance.

In a further boost to the sector, the Minister announced the establishment of the **Postal Service Fund**, a government-backed initiative led by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to ensure the long-term sustainability of postal services, particularly in rural areas.

“The RM50 million advance financing will help maintain the delivery of essential postal services across the country without interruption, in line with Section 5 of the Postal Services Act 2012,” said Fahmi, adding that the fund forms part of the government’s Universal Service Obligation (USO) to ensure nationwide postal access.

World Post Day is celebrated annually on 9 October to mark the founding of the Universal Postal Union in 1874. This year’s theme, "#PosForPeople: Local Service. Global Reach", underscores the enduring importance of postal services as both a community anchor and global connector.

“To all postal workers — from the postman braving the weather to the staff behind counters and in sorting centres — your contributions are deeply valued. You are the unsung heroes keeping people connected,” said Fahmi in his closing remarks.

The launch of Redly and the commemorative World Post Day 2025 stamp set signals a new chapter for Pos Malaysia as it balances tradition with innovation to meet the evolving needs of a digital and borderless world. - October 9, 2025
