WORLD Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) Group Managing Director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim has been named Chairman of the Corporate Group Advisory Council at Ranchan Maritime Group Sdn. Bhd., a company owned by Nova Marine Carriers and headquartered in Lugano, Switzerland.

Nova Marine Carriers is recognised as one of the largest global cement shipping firms, providing logistical support across multiple regions to facilitate industrial development and international trade.

The appointment highlights Irmohizam’s extensive expertise in building international strategic networks, positioning him to foster cross-border collaboration in trade, logistics, and economic development.

It complements his role as a Board Member of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), reinforcing WTCKL’s standing as a pivotal platform connecting the global business community while advancing Malaysia’s exhibitions and conventions industry.

“This mandate marks a new chapter in strengthening global networks. My focus is to drive the growth of exhibitions and conventions at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, positioning Malaysia as a competitive Business Events hub within ASEAN and beyond,” Irmohizam stated in a recent statement.

He stressed that his combination of practical industry experience and academic engagement underpins a commitment to sustainable leadership and lifelong learning, which will guide efforts to grow Malaysia’s business events sector on both regional and international stages.

The role also opens opportunities for large-scale initiatives and collaborations with Nova Marine Carriers, expected to expand industry networks, attract investment, and enhance Malaysia’s profile in global trade and business events.
