Bursa opens higher across the board on positive sentiment

KUALA LUMPUR – Bursa Malaysia opened higher across the board this morning, buoyed by positive market sentiment, echoing the Wall Street’s overnight rebound.

At 9.06am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 6.79 points to 1,537.21 from yesterday’s close of 1,530.42.   

It opened 0.95 of-a-point firmer at 1,531.37.

Meanwhile, the ringgit opened marginally higher against the US dollar today, supported by positive sentiment following the high recovery rate from Covid-19 infections and lower daily case tally.

At 9am, the local note improved to 4.1780/1810 versus the greenback from yesterday’s close of 4.1785/1795. – Bernama, October 6, 2021
