KUALA LUMPUR – Sime Darby Bhd is investing more than RM120 million in a new BMW 4S dealership in Balakong, Selangor, reflecting its commitment to serve customers for the long term in the country.

Sime Darby Auto Bavaria Sdn Bhd (Auto Bavaria), a wholly-owned unit of automotive division Sime Darby Motors, today broke ground on the new premises spanning over 243,342 sq ft along the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK Highway).

The Auto Bavaria Balakong 4S Centre, designed with the latest BMW Retail NEXT concept, will open its doors in the first quarter of 2023, Sime Darby said in a statement today.

“We are optimistic on the prospects in the automotive segment. In line with our strategic growth plans, our investment in this facility in Balakong, along with our recent acquisition of the BMW 4S dealership in Tebrau and the launch of our BMW 4S Centre in Ara Damansara, reinforces our pledge to deliver only the highest level of service to our customers,” Sime Darby group chief financial officer Mustamir Mohamad said.

Meanwhile, BMW Group Malaysia managing director Hans de Visser said as the Klang Valley develops and expands, the group has identified Balakong, Serdang, Cheras and its surrounding areas as new potentials where it can serve customers better.

“It is only natural that we awarded Auto Bavaria the responsibility of representing us in the area. Auto Bavaria has been a valuable dealer partner for us here in Malaysia and they are also our premium partner in helping us achieve our ambitions in the country,” he said.

Besides the retail showroom, the new BMW 4S Centre is also equipped with an extensive aftersales facility with a total of 30 productive bays, a body and paint centre, as well as BMW Premium Selection. – Bernama, October 26, 2021
