KUALA LUMPUR – Bursa Malaysia has remained on an uptrend this morning, supported by continuous buying momentum in selected heavyweights, dealers said.

Meanwhile, the ringgit has strengthened against the US dollar at the opening today, as markets remained cautious about the greenback over the possibility of a hike in the interest rate, a dealer said.

ActivTrades trader Dyogenes Rodrigues Diniz noted that United States Federal Reserve’s chairman Jerome Powell was reported as saying that much of the inflation rise in the US is linked to issues affecting the global supply chains, which are mostly caused by Covid-19. – Bernama, January 12, 2022
