THE body of an unidentified man believed to have been murdered was found in a drain at Jalan Industri 7, Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh, in Sungai Buloh on Aug 29.
Sungai Buloh district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said police were alerted to the discovery by a member of the public, while the Fire and Rescue Department assisted in retrieving the body.
The remains were then taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
"Initial examination found that no identification documents were found on the deceased and his identity has yet to be established.
"The deceased was a fair-skinned, bald man, approximately 170 centimetres (cm) tall and weighing 50 kilograms (kg)," he said in a recent statement.
Mohd Hafiz said the post-mortem found evidence of criminal activity on the man's body, leading police to classify the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
"The post-mortem found evidence of criminal activity on the deceased's body and the case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code."
He said investigations were continuing to identify the deceased and track down the suspect or suspects involved.
Members of the public with information about the incident, or those whose family members have been reported missing and match the deceased's description, have been urged to contact investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Mohd Reezal Mohammad @ Mohd Zain at 013-3479809.
"Information can also be channelled to the Sungai Buloh District Police Headquarters at 03-61561222 or any nearby police station.
"At the same time, the public is advised not to circulate any images, videos or unverified information on social media platforms, or make any speculation that could affect the investigation," he said. - September 1, 2026
