KUALA LUMPUR – Caely Holdings Bhd today said that former deputy inspector-general of police Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim and Noor Azri Azerai have resigned from its board of directors, barely a month after their appointments.
In a statement, the lingerie maker said the resignation of the pair took effect from today.
Mazlan had served as deputy IGP for about six months from June to December last year before he retired, while 23-year-old Noor Azri had been appointed to the boards of several public-listed companies prior to his stint at Caely, according to reports by business daily The Edge.
Caely also announced the appointments of Datuk Seri Sin Hock Min and Datuk Loh Ming Choon as new executive directors and former senior deputy public prosecutor Datuk Mohamad Hanafiah Zakaria as an independent director.
Last week, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) issued a freeze order on Caely’s bank accounts. The company has said that it was unaware of the order and only found out after it received an April 13 notice from one of its banks, CIMB Bank, that its accounts had been frozen.
Caely had announced in early April that it had appointed Virdos Lima Consultancy (M) Sdn Bhd as forensic auditor to conduct an independent forensic audit on allegations of suspicious and irregular transactions in the company. – The Vibes, April 25, 2022
