KUALA LUMPUR – MyDigital Corporation will develop partnership and collaborative initiatives between the public and private sectors to achieve common goals and aspirations under the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MDEB).

Chief executive officer Fabian Bigar said the MyDigital Catalytic Projects Task Force was formed to remove bottlenecks that companies may encounter when adopting digital technology and infrastructure, and also establish the criteria for selecting catalytic projects across industry verticals and technological domains.

“These projects should result in a visible and tangible public impact while also accelerating digital economy growth post-pandemic,” he said at today’s pre-event press conference for the Smart Nation Expo and Forum 2022 here.

He said the MyDigital booth at the expo will showcase some of the ongoing government initiatives such as the MyDigital Economic Blueprint and the National 4IR Policy to ensure that they will have real-life applications.

“We are also showcasing our private sector partners in the MyDigital catalytic projects. Facilitating these projects is an imperative national strategy, and our hope is that more Malaysian companies will innovate and adapt to ensure they continue to succeed especially by digitalising,” he said.

Fabian believes that the expo and forum will be an excellent opportunity for businesses to connect and reach out to global partners and prospects, and also for delegates to get insights into the latest available technologies and solutions in the market.

“It is in line with MDEB’s policy objective to encourage industry players to become creators, users and adopters of innovative business models,” he said.

MDEB was launched in February 2021 as a component to realise the 12th Malaysia Plan, with the objective to transform Malaysia into a digitally-enabled and technology-driven high-income nation in three phases by 2030.

Phase 1, which is to strengthen the foundation for digital adoption, concludes at the end of 2022.

Over 20,000 delegates and participants are physically expected at the international event held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.

Themed “Accelerating Digital Transformation”, the three-day event from September 27 to 29 will highlight 10 key zones including smart energy, smart communications, smart manufacturing and the fourth industrial revolution, smart government, smart energy, smart mobility, smart security, smart building, smart healthcare and smart education.

The expo will also host the Asean Smart Cities Congress 2022 featuring over 50 speakers and panellists from 10 countries with 500 delegates representing mayors, city officials and planners. – Bernama, August 18, 2022
