PUTRAJAYA – ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd together with the Health Ministry (MoH) has set a new Malaysian record in “most vaccination doses administered in a day”.

The feat, undertaken under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) which has been running since February 2021, has been recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBoR).

ProtectHealth and MoH have up until yesterday administered more than 72 million doses of vaccine to people across the country.

On July 28, 2021, the highest number of daily vaccinations was recorded, with 581,566 doses administered, resulting in the recognition by MBoR.

ProtectHealth chief executive officer Datuk Anas Alam Faizli today expressed his hope that the recognition will fuel the spirit in the company to keep up its achievement as the leading public-private partnership (PPP) in the healthcare sector.

He added that it should also empower the country’s health system to become more resilient and robust in the future.

Anas was speaking at a ceremony where MBoR presented the certificate for the record-breaking feat. The event yesterday also saw the launch of a report titled “Record-breaking Covid-19 Vaccination: Public-Private Partnership”.

It was attended by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and MoH secretary-general Datuk Harjeet Singh Hardev Singh.

“There are wisdoms in every test we endure. The Covid-19 outbreak has brought opportunities for collaboration that we never expected before.

“With this meaningful award, I assure that ProtectHealth will continue to uphold the mandate entrusted by MoH and continue to be a leader in healthcare PPP, and improve the country’s health system by more involvement with stakeholders participation,” he said.

He also said that the report on the record-breaking Covid-19 vaccination contains a record of all the meaningful events and achievements under PICK thus far, and will serve as an important reference material in the future.

“I believe that the report will give a full picture of PICK’s journey, how it started and its impact in helping the country to curb the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak,” he said.

The ceremony also honoured 41 award recipients consisting of clinics, private hospitals, and non-governmental organisations that have provided excellent service and cooperation in making PICK a success. – The Vibes, September 14, 2022
