A GROUP of artistes led by veteran actress Fauziah Nawi today met with Istana Negara officials to convey the difficulties faced by entertainment industry players.

The group’s meeting with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s officers follows an invitation from the palace, reported Astro Awani.

Fauziah lauded the concern and sensitivity shown by Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah towards those in the industry who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

She shared details of the meeting on her Facebook page.

“We have forwarded our views and suggestions to help all in the industry. Specifically so that flexibility may be given, while adhering to the SOPs, to let us earn a livelihood for our families.

“For people like us, when there are jobs, there are salaries. No work, no salary. Since the spread of Covid-19 and the implementation of the movement control order, artistes have not been spared from economic pressures.”

She also expressed her appreciation to the authorities and entertainment industry associations for their efforts to address artistes’ plight.

“Hopefully, my sharing will get the attention of His Majesty, who is concerned about the fate and suffering of the people affected by the spread of Covid-19.” – The Vibes, February 10, 2021
