ANIME is not just for kids, and Netflix’s upcoming lineup is about to prove just that.
Experience a heartwarming story about finding family and humanity in a post-apocalyptic world, brace yourselves for the return of a beloved ‘90s icon, and for fans of mythology – the mythological creatures of Filipino folklore are set to come to life on-screen! In short, there’s an anime for everyone over the coming weeks.
1. 'Eden', currently streaming

Thousands of years in the future, in a city solely inhabited by AI robots, two maintenance robots accidentally awaken a human baby girl from stasis during a routine assignment. In a world where humans were nothing more than a forbidden ancient myth, the two robots start questioning all they were taught to believe and secretly raise the child – whom they named Sara – in a safe haven outside the city.
What follows is a "feels" trip that you and your family can enjoy, as you follow Sara on a journey through self-discovery and learning what it means to be human in a world filled with robots.
Created by Justin Leach and renowned animation studio CGCG, 'Eden' also boasts a star-studded English voice cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris, Rosario Dawson, and David Tennant.
2. 'Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal the Movie', streaming on June 3

“Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, she is the one named Sailor Moon!”
Who can forget that iconic theme song? Like many others around the world, we definitely remember sitting eagerly in front of the TV, eyes glued to the screen as Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians fight for love and justice.
Based on the ‘Dream Arc' of the original hit manga series, the two-part movie will chronicle the scattered Sailor Guardians’ journey as they reunite to bring light back into the world when a dark power threatens to dominate the entire universe after enshrouding the Earth in a total solar eclipse.

3. 'Trese', streaming on June 11

If you’re a fan of supernatural crime procedurals such as 'Lucifer' or action fantasy like 'Castlevania' and 'Blood of Zeus', this might be right up your alley.
Based on an award-winning Filipino "komik" of the same name, 'Trese' is set in a Manila where the mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding amongst humans.
The series follows its titular demon hunter character as she goes head to head with a criminal underworld composed of malevolent supernatural beings.
Filipino actress Liza Soberano voices Alexandra Trese in the Filipino language version, while pretty little Shay Mitchell plays the same character in the English dub. The latter is joined by Darren Criss, Jon Jon Briones, Nicole Scherzinger, Manny Jacinto, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Dante Basco.
