6 K-dramas you can watch to help soothe your travel itch

DO you miss travelling? Given various circumstances, you might not be able to travel as much as you would like to. The good news is that you can relieve your wanderlust by travelling vicariously through K-dramas.

There are beautiful scenery that will transport you into different parts of the world. Check out some shows with gorgeous landscapes you can journey to here.

1. 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha'

Are you eager to visit Korea? While you might be used to city sights in K-dramas, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is mainly set in the fictional city of Gongjin and filmed in the real city of Pohang.

Feast your eyes on idyllic sights of the seaside village, where beautiful beaches and romantic lighthouses are aplenty. You’ll find yourself falling in love with the quaint village and the characters. 

2. 'The Package'

'The Package' is the perfect watch if you fancy yourself a trip to France. While most series can only focus on one or two cities, The Package shows a lot more of France. Besides Paris, the drama also spotlights Rennes, Saint-Malo, and Mont Saint-Michel. You can play tourist alongside the characters and appreciate the stunning sights with them.

3. 'Encounter'

Havana, ooh na-na. If you want to be transported to Cuba, Encounter is your pick. This series features a woman and a man encountering each other in Cuba only to meet again in Korea.

Enjoy the unique architecture of Havana and the dynamic nightlife, as well as picturesque views of its iconic esplanade and famous landmarks like the Hotel Nacional de Cuba and Fort of Saint Charles. 

4. 'Memories of the Alhambra'

Memories of the Alhambra centres around an augmented reality game inspired by the stories of the Alhambra Palace in Spain. Naturally, the series shows parts of Alhambra and Granada, Spain. Other cities in Spain are featured too, such as Barcelona and Girona.

While the story is set in Spain, some of the scenes were filmed in Hungary and Slovenia. Just as the game takes players into a new world, viewers can take a break from reality through this show.

5. 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God'

Do you wish you could visit another country in the blink of an eye? Guardian: The Lonely and Great God makes this a reality whenever Kim Shin wants to travel to Quebec, Canada. A door becomes a magic portal and viewers are treated to beautiful images of Quebec. The gorgeous fall foliage can be seen as the main characters go to classic sites like the Hotel Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Fontaine de Tourny, and more.

6. 'Crash Landing on You'

Crash Landing on You' tells the story of a romance between a South Korean heiress and a North Korean soldier. While much of their adventure is set in the two Koreas, Switzerland is a special place for the pair.

Breathtaking destinations like Lake Brienz and Panorama Bridge Sigriswil add to the charming romance. The incredible Swiss Alps and greenery also bring more magic to the captivating story.
