Celebrate the upcoming Japanese Film Festival with screenings and online streams

THE Japanese Film Festival (JFF), is a project of the Japan Foundation created with the aim of sharing the excitement of Japanese cinema with the world. 

Bringing you the wonders of Japan through a series of physical and online events back-to-back that will satisfy your thirst for Japanese movies.

Kick-starting the season is The Weekend Japanese Film Show happening with a series of free screenings from November 2021 until March 2022. This film show will be a pre-festival for the 17th edition of the Japanese Film Festival that is set to return to participating GSC cinemas nationwide in January 2022.

The dates for the 17th edition of the JFF are as follows:

  • Klang Valley screening: January 6-12 2022; GSC Mid Valley, GSC NU Sentral and GSC 1 Utama
  • Penang screening: January 13-16 2022; GSC Gurney Plaza
  • Johor Bahru screening: January 13-16 2022; GSC Paradigm Mall JB
  • Kuching screening: January 20-23 2022; GSC CityONE Megamall
  • Kota Kinabalu screening: January 20-23 2022; GSC Suria Sabah

Further details will be announced at a later date. 

In addition, the Pre-festival for Japanese Film Festival Online is happening from November 15 to 22 2021, showcasing the five most popular titles from last year’s online festival that can be enjoyed for free from the comfort of your own home.
